What is a quotation?

A quotation (or price quote) is an offer of price you send before the customer commits. It is not a request for payment and not a tax document. Once accepted, it becomes an order and later a tax invoice.

Quotation format: what to include

  • The title “Quotation” and a unique quote number
  • Your business name, address, contact details and TRN
  • The customer’s name and address
  • Issue date and validity date (“valid until”)
  • Itemised description, quantity and unit price
  • VAT (5%) and the total in AED
  • Payment terms, delivery time and any conditions
